the Blues

Echo: Waves and Particles, 29" x 120", gouache on paper

Six months after 9-11, my work entered a decade of the blues returning to the way of the river as a form of mediation. Echo: Waves and Particles illuminates the shock and awe of that era. Return to the blues during trying times echos my childhood experience of the Cold War where much thought was needed to understand and cope with philosophical conflict on an international scale. Indigo, said to calm the soul, is the color of the river reflecting space, signaling infinite perspectives.
